We are delighted with the work carried out on our home by Neil and his skilled team. The project was undertaken with respectful, courteous professionalism and extreme attention to detail. Not the most competitive quote we received but this is reflected in the quality workmanship and high standard of finish needed to achieve the fantastic end result.

Neil and his team did a full refurbishment of an existing house for me, originally an 1850’s flint cart barn, in a conservation area in the South Downs National Park. They demonstrated great skill in traditional building techniques - rebuilding chimneys, re-roofing with a mix of recycled and salvaged tiles, laying a york stone terrace with brick steps and oak risers- melding this with modern upgrades including underfloor heating under new grey limestone floors, new oak-framed windows, a hand-built kitchen and 2 new bathrooms Neil in particular is a great communicator providing daily updates with photos sent from his iPad when problems discovered on site needed to be discussed, important when renovating an old building. They offered a complete service including sourcing and laying new turf for the lawn at the end and co-ordinating with a number of specialists including curtain/blind makers, bespoke fitted cupboards, bookcases and kitchen, sand-blasting of existing exposed joists and sling-braced trusses.

We’re absolutely delighted with our extension recently completed by Neil and has team. From start to finish our project was managed by Neil, who was always available for advice and there to oversee proceedings. A polite, friendly workforce, always leaving the site tidy at the end of the day. We’ve received lots of compliments from friends and neighbours since the work has been completed and wouldn’t hesitate to use AJ Hammond again and recommend to others.

Neil and the team did an amazing job of a two storey extension on our family home. One of our biggest concerns was how disruptive the build would be having small children in the house but the whole team could not have been more respectful and we felt fully supported throughout the whole process. We have recommended them to many people locally who have been equally as delighted as we were with the end result.
